I'm Back from the Dead

Phew! Glad I made it out of that one! 7 hour brain surgery followed by vomiting all over myself in NICU through the night. Followed by RAGE at my right side being paralyzed. I came out of surgery pale as a ghost and speaking Spanish and French. About a week later I was sent to JFK Rehab in Edison, NJ to learn how to walk again. Let me tell you it has been HELL but I am so freakin happy to be alive! You get out of Physical Therapy what you put into it. 25 days ago I could not move my R side at all. Now, I am back at my sisters walking around with a leg brace and a cane. I am expected to make a 100% recovery. I get stronger everyday. My stuff has been moved into my condo courtesy of Bizzy, Rosie and friends. I am very optimistic about the future.

  1. Glad to see you are back. I did not anticipate you would need to be in rehab so long. Maybe you did not either. I guess when they start sticking things in your brain they don't always know what may be the result. Wishing you continued progress.

  2. You are the warrior! While I got a couple reports via Jeannie, I'm so so glad to see a post from you! Am relieved to hear that the PT is working (well, guess that would be you working the PT). In any case, happy to hear the update and prognosis. And, I suppose the upside of this insanity is getting your condo move taken care of by others! ;)

    Take good care,
    Donna

  4. Heard about you trip to A & P. Made me happy. You;ve been through so much, and I am proud of you. I saw you hours after the operation and the next few days after, and I found it hard to believe the doctors who said ther would be 100% recovery. I fought doubeting it then, but you made me a believer. Did you ever think that a trip to the A & P would make your dad so happy. Nice job My dear daughter. Lover fro the Old Man
